- National Housing Rental Regulations signed by the State Council took effect on 15 September 2025. They set baseline standards for rental homes, regulate rental companies and brokers, and require larger cities to monitor and publish rent levels. (source, 2025-07)
- Renting as a foreigner
- Foreigners staying anywhere other than a hotel (for example a rented flat) must register their address with the local police station within 24 hours of arrival; either the foreigner or the host can do it. Hotels register guests automatically. (source, 2026)
