What to know before you rent
- Typical rents
- The RTB/ESRI Rent Index puts the national standardised average rent at €1,839 a month for new tenancies and €1,513 for existing tenancies in Q1 2026. (source, 2026-03)
- Deposits
- For tenancies created since 9 August 2021, tenants cannot be required to pay more than two months' rent upfront: at most one month's deposit plus one month's rent in advance. (source, 2021-08)
- Leases
