Long-term apartment rentals in Paris
Compare 14 sites for Paris, France: unfurnished and furnished lets of six months or more on the portals locals use.
Renting a flat in Paris
Paris packs most of its apartments into compact Haussmann-era buildings, so expect smaller floor areas, characterful layouts and, often, a lift-free walk up. The 20 arrondissements spiral out from the centre and the Metro reaches almost every street within a few minutes' walk.
Areas to look at
- Le Marais (3rd and 4th): historic lanes, galleries and plenty of small flats
- Saint-Germain (6th): classic Left Bank cafés, higher prices
- Canal Saint-Martin (10th): younger, relaxed, good value for the area
- Montmartre (18th): village feel on the hill, steep streets
Local rules
Hosts letting their home to tourists must show a registration number in the listing, and the number of nights a main home can be let each year is capped. Furnished stays of one to ten months are commonly let under a 'bail mobilité' lease.
- Paris requires a registration number for every furnished tourist let; a principal residence may be let as a tourist rental for at most 90 days a year, with fines up to €10,000 per year of excess and up to €5,000 for no registration. (source, 2026)
- Under the 2024 Le Meur law, registration of furnished tourist lets becomes mandatory in every commune once the national online registration service launches (planned Q4 2026); communes may cap principal-residence lets. (source, 2026-07)
